Copenhagen, June 10, 2026 - LISTEN TO THIS has launched a new online Masterclass designed to support audiologist education and help hearing care professionals strengthen the quality of their patient conversations. Built around the AIMER framework, the course offers a practical, evidence-based approach to more person-centered consultations without changing scope of practice.
The LISTEN TO THIS Masterclass: The AIMER Framework is designed for hearing care professionals who want to better navigate some of the most important and often most sensitive conversations in clinical practice - including the social and emotional impact of hearing loss, listening fatigue, loneliness, relationship strain, and questions around hearing and cognitive health.
A practical online Masterclass for whole-person hearing care
The Masterclass introduces the AIMER framework - Ask, Inform, Manage, Encourage and Refer - as a structured way to support patient conversations that go beyond the audiogram and reflect the full lived experience of hearing loss.
Across two hours of online learning, clinicians are guided on how to open wellbeing conversations, share evidence in clear and supportive language, co-develop practical strategies with patients, and make referrals in a way that respects professional scope while maintaining continuity of care. The Masterclass is led by Dr. Bec Bennett, Principal Research Audiologist at the National Acoustic Laboratories in Australia and lead developer of the AIMER framework, together with Dr. Hannah Glick, audiologist and cognitive neuroscientist.
“Spreading awareness of hearing health does not change the scope of practice, but it does change the quality and depth of patient conversations,”
says Dr. Sigurd Brandt, Medical Director & Head of Hearing Health at GN.
“With this Masterclass, we want to give hearing care professionals practical tools they can use right away to support patients more fully and confidently.”
From audiologist education to real-world clinical application
The online course consists of 11 modules that move from introduction and theory to practical application. It begins by exploring why whole-person hearing care matters, then walks clinicians through each step of the AIMER framework in practical terms.
Case-based modules show how the framework can be applied in real-world situations, including listening fatigue and social withdrawal, loneliness, relationship strain, and cognitively complex cases where patients or family members may be concerned about memory and cognitive decline.
A key focus of the course is helping clinicians discuss the connection between hearing and cognitive health in ways that are informative and supportive, without causing unnecessary fear or stigma. The course also addresses how to recognize cognitive red flags, involve caregivers appropriately, and make sensitive referrals while staying within the hearing care professional’s role.
Available now in English with CEUs for eligible professionals
The AIMER Masterclass is currently available in English, with additional language versions added in the near future. Hearing care professionals in the US and Canada can earn CEUs through the course, alongside access to a certificate of completion and supporting resources.
With the launch of the new LISTEN TO THIS Masterclass, we continue to expand our educational resources for the hearing care community and support a broader understanding of hearing health as an essential part of overall health and healthy aging.
